Pilots,

In my second hand Twike 511 there are several small cracks and holes.

I m going to repair the ofcourse.

Can anyone advise me out of experience witch products i can use.

Hi Tom,

small cracks, joints, and loose parts providing a bit of bonding surface can be repaired with a good quality MS-Polymer/MS-Hybrid glue in the color of your choice. It is not as soft as Silicone and in contrast to Silicone it can be painted over. I am using Gyso Polyflex 444, but comparable products certainly are available in your region as well.

For larger damages I use fibre glass mats and polyester resin - same product range as used for car repairs.

To ensure good adhesion and durability it is very important to first clean the surfaces properly and then sand them to yield a rough surface. For cleaning make sure the product does NOT contain Ketones (Acetone!) which dissolve the Luran S. I have been using Gyso Reiniger 100 successfully for years now - it provides a sufficient cleaning power (also cleaning silicone and MS-Polymer residues) and only mildly attacks the Luran S. This product probably is only available in Switzerland.
